The paintings are lifesize.

Mediums used were oil, acrylic, beeswax, metal leaf and spraypaint. All paintings were done on canvas.

For the first time, I portrayed a couple in every painting for the series. I wanted to push the cross over between my abstract work and figurative work and so worked more with the negative space that surrounds the figures, as I worked, the figures and the space surrounding them began to merge. Because of the intimacy of the figures, I began to allow the flat paint and beeswax surrounding them to dribble over them to give the feeling of more privacy, so that they become more departed and hidden from the viewer. The effect of lace over the bodies was done for the same reason, but also for the intricacy of the design of the lace compared to the tonalities of the skin.
